JEF Sir Lancelot with Alice White
Bred and foaled at Winkler's Farm in Gardiner, NY, he was purchased from Eileen Berkley in Bennington, Kansas in June of 2004.
At the 2009 Queeny Park Horse Trials in St. Louis on June 13-14, Lance was an impressive 3rd in the Novice Horse Division. |
JEF SIR LANCELOT
1999 Registered Connemara Stallion, 14.3h black, connected star, strip, snip, three socks
Nineteen year old Clare Krska of Olathe, KS rode Lance to a score of 72 at his first USDF show at the St. Louis Area Dressage Society Summer Festival I & II at Lake St. Louis on June 13th, 2010. Congrats to a great team!
In May 2009, Lance was the Novice Champion at the Briar Fox Horse Trials in Wichita, KS with Alice White of Vermillion Valley Equine Center, Belvue, Kansas aboard. His daughter, Lady Gwenivere (out of a TB mare) also competed and had the lowest dressage score at 25, and was leading the Beginner Novice Division until one refusal dropped her to third place... quite an accomplishment for her very first event! |

Out of five 2007 events, Lance won three and went reserve in the other two. He was also the Heritage Park Novice Champion in his only 2008 appearance. This is a stallion with heart, kindness and athletic ability from ears to hooves. Lance is exactly what a Connemara Pony should be. We've owned Lance since 2004 and every moment has been a joy.
Lance won our favor immediately with his handsome looks, but captured our hearts with that quiet strength and boldness that are well known Connemara traits. He offers the physical attributes every Connemara Pony should have, but above and beyond the rest he has 10" bone, the breed standard being 7-8". He has a beautiful head with soulful eyes, a long neck, short back, deep heart girth and excellent sloping shoulder. As a bonus, the American Connemara Inspection Team rated his temperament as Excellent.

In his first season of showing in 2005, Lance was the American Connemara Pony Society Region VII Hunter/Jumper Champion. We were promoting a pony in 2006, so Lance only went to one show that year. He literally came straight out of the pasture with no schooling and was Reserve Champion in his division. |

Until now, horses have only been a hobby for us, but Lance has convinced us that it's worth investing our time, money and effort into promoting him. He always attracts attention because he's handsome, but people just can't believe he's a stallion. When a seven year old novice rider can ride him in a warm-up arena full of other horses and he behaves the same as if a pro were on him, you know he's special! He also drives, but we are still learning about the details of driving. Watch our website and perhaps we'll eventually have evidence of Lance in harness. |
